Why are there fires in space in this book.

FIRES.

in SPACE.

There is no oxygen in space. so why, oh why, are there FIRES?!

What exactly is burning here? Please, oh author, inform me.

It is space. It is a vacuum. Even if a bunch of crap just got sucked off your busted-ass spaceship, pretty soon it’s going to be a vacuum again. Because space is a lot bigger than the inside of your little ship, so I don’t think your oxygen is going to make a big difference.

so, I repeat: FIRES. in SPACE.

Go fix your stupid ship (which should be a complete vacuum at this point, since you’ve had a bigass hole in your side for a while now) and stop worrying about the freaking fire. God.

edit: oh my god. this is a stupid book. stupid, stupid book. I give up and I shall now go find some decent sci-fi in which the author had access to google.
